Before BYU

• Holds the high school record in the 800m, 300mH and the 4x400M relay at Reagan High School; regional record-holder in the 4x400M relay
• Was track MVP of the year in 2006-2007, lettered four years in track and cross country
• Was co-captain of the cross country team
• Was the Top 10 Texas State Elite runner
• Played for the San Antonio Blazers in club whose team placed fourth in the 4x800M relay at the AAU Junior Olympics in 2004; was also a Junior Olympic qualifier in the 800m
