Parents are Paul and Debra Donaldson has one brother and two sisters participated in her high school choir cheerleader four years in high school, lettering two years on varsity member of student government Bonita HS mascot major undeclared.

Before BYU

Club: Played for the Club West Volleyball Club 2004-09 for all four elite teams participated in the Junior Olympics 2005-08.

High School: Three-year letterwinner at Bonita High School under head coach Morgan Coberly named team MVP in 2008 team captain team offensive MVP in 2007 first team All-San Gabriel Valley Miramonte League MVP CIF First Team first-team all-league Miramonte league champions in 2006, 2007 and 2008 CIF semifinalist three-time San Gabriel Valley Tribune Athlete of the Week career high 23 kills, six blocks and 14 service aces.
