Divers compete at Mizzou Invite

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Athletes from BYU's dive teams traveled to Columbia, Missouri for the Mizzou Invite this week from Nov. 17-19. The invitational featured six diving events with 10 different collegiate teams.

The Cougars opened the first night strong, with Kennedy Cribbs winning the women’s three-meter dive with a score of 333.00. Mickey Strauss then took fifth in the men’s one-meter competition with a score of 311.45.

On night two, BYU had two women make the cut for finals in the one-meter dive. Hailey Johnson and Cribbs placed eighth and 10th, respectively. Strauss placed seventh in the men’s three-meter dive on Thursday evening.

The Cougars had three men compete in the men’s platform diving finals on the last night of competition. Strauss, Nathan Marshall and Cody Dreesen placed fifth, seventh, and eighth respectively.

Cribbs earned fifth place in the women’s platform finals on Friday.

Next, BYU's dive team will compete at the Utah Dive Invitational in January. The meet will take place in Salt Lake City at the Ute Natatorium from Jan. 7-8.

BYU Swim and Dive teams hit the road for invitationals

BYU swimmers compete against Utah in 2020-21 season

BYU's swim and dive teams will travel this week to compete at two different invitationals, the Mizzou Invite in Missouri and the Dixie State Invitational in southern Utah.

The dive teams will head to Missouri for the Mizzou Invite from Nov. 17-19. The invitational will feature six dive events with divers from 10 different collegiate teams. Preliminary competitions will begin at 9:30 a.m. CST each morning, and finals will begin at 5:30 p.m. CST. Live streaming is available here.

The swim teams will travel to St. George, Utah for the Dixie State Invitational from Nov. 18-20. The women's team will compete against 10 other teams, while the men's team will face three opponents. The meet will begin with preliminary competitions at 10 a.m. MST each day, followed by final competitions at 5 p.m. MST. A schedule of events can be found here, and a live stream is available here. Both invitationals will be the final competitions for the Cougars during the 2021 calendar year. The dive team's next competition will be the Utah Dive Invite on Jan. 7, 2022, while the swim teams won't compete again until Jan. 14.
