Responsibilities

Oversees many aspects of traditional student-athlete development, while overseeing BYU’s Built4Life program and name, image and likeness (NIL) efforts. Built4Life is a wholistic career development program for BYU student-athletes that will prepare them for life beyond BYU Athletics and help them capitalize on NIL opportunities to monetize their personal brands.

• Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, BYU, 2008
• Master in Public Administration, University of Wyoming, 2012
• Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming, 2012

Work experience

• Worked as Director of Compliance at BYU
• Worked as the Chief Compliance Officer at Charles R. Drew University in Los Angeles, CA
• Served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance & Operations at Brigham Young University-Hawaii
• Interned as an NCAA Compliance Assistant at the University of Wyoming

Personal

• Lives in Pleasant Grove with this wife Ciara (Shrum) and two daughters; Has a son due in March 2018
• Enjoys family, sports, church, travel
• Served LDS mission in Brazil Porto Alegre North Mission
