PROVO -- After working in the corporate sector for several years, Mark Quinn has been named an associate athletic director at Brigham Young University.

Quinn, a native of Bountiful, Utah, graduated from BYU with a B.S. in manufacturing engineering technology. He later completed an MBA from Northern Illinois. He worked for a high-tech company for several years before being recruited by KPMG Consulting in Chicago. He spent 12 years at KPMG Consulting working with Fortune 1,000 maunfacturing companies before accepting the position at BYU.

"He brings a wealth of experience to his new position, along with a fresh perspective and a consultant's trained eye for finding new and better ways to do things," said Val Hale, director of men's athletics at BYU.

"I'm delighted to be associated with Brigham Young University and look forward to working within the athletic department to accomplish the goals of the university," Quinn said.

His primary responsibility at BYU will be to oversee fund-raising for the Athletic Department. In that capacity, he will supervise the Cougar Club and the Varsity Club while coordinating the volunteer fund-raising committees that are being formed as part of the department's capital fund-raising campaign. He will also be the administrative liaison with KSL TV and radio. Quinn will also assist with various special projects in the Athletic Department.

He and his wife, the former Elaine Hoole, are the parents of five children, ages 15 to 3.
