24 Cougar Harriers Named to Academic All-Conference Team
PROVO -- The Mountain West Conference named 24 Cougar harriers to the 2001 Academic All-Conference cross country team on Wednesday.
The BYU women placed 13 athletes on the team, leading every other school in the conference all by themselves. Colorado State placed the second highest number of athletes on the all-academic team with 11 honorees.
The BYU men's team had 11 members of the squad honored to complete the Cougar conference honorees. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor to the team.
