Six Cougars Selected to MWC All-Academic Team

PROVO -- Four women's tennis players and two men's players earned 2001 Academic All-Conference honors from the Mountain West Conference. Brooke Ferney, Lindsay Ferrell, Elyse Jensen and Liza Khoudoiarova took home the honors for the women's team. Matt Stohl and Gert Vilms earned the recognition for the men's team.

To be eligible for the selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor to the team. In all, 58 MWC athletes earned academic honors for tennis in 2000-2001. Exactly half of the selections this year are repeat selections, including BYU stars Vilms and Khoudoiarova.
