BYU women's golf signs incoming freshman Berlin Long for 2022-23 season.

PROVO, Utah — BYU women’s golf announced that Berlin Long of Lehi, Utah, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Cougars beginning the 2022-23 season.

“I am very excited to have Berlin join our team,” said BYU head coach Carrie Roberts. “She is a very accomplished golfer with a long list of accolades. Berlin will not only add to our success on the course but will continue to strengthen the culture of our team off the course as well.”

Long won the 2020 6A Utah High School State Championship with a 5-under par 67 at Fox Hollow Golf Course.

The incoming freshman also holds the women’s competitive course record at the Soldier Hollow Silver Course. She fired a 10-under par 62 in the 2019 Utah Section PGA’s Utah Junior PGA Championship. Her win earned her a trip to the 44th Girls Junior PGA Championship held July 9-12 at Keney Park Golf Course in Hartford, Connecticut.

Long recorded five top-10 finishes during the 2020-21 AJGA season and was the runner-up at the 2021 Utah Women’s Amateur Championship.

She was the medalist at the 2021 USGA Women’s Four-ball qualifier, a four-time member of Utah’s Junior America Cup team and national finalist at the Augusta National Drive, Chip and Putt in 2015.

Long will join the Cougar roster following her high school career at Lone Peak in Highland, Utah this coming spring.
