Lisa Dernick and Adrianne Gibby named to the academic All-MWC team
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - BYU's Lisa Dernick and Adrianne Gibby were among 14 student-athletes recognized today for academic excellence as members of the women's 2001 Golf Academic All-Mountain West Conference Team.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor to the team.
A total of 39 student-athletes earned MWC academic honors in 2000-01, including 25 men and 14 women. Colorado State and Wyoming each had nine honorees, followed by New Mexico with eight. BYU placed four members on this year's academic team, Utah had three, and Air Force, San Diego State and UNLV each placed two individuals on the squad. Nineteen of the 39 Academic All-MWC members were repeat selections from a year ago.
