No. 18 Cougars In Rematch With Aggies

After competing against Utah State in Logan just last Friday, the BYU gymnastics team will take on the Aggies again this Friday at 7 p.m. in the Marriott Center.

The Cougars scored well against Utah State in Logan, with a 195.500 that included a 49.525 on the floor, which tied a school record set earlier this season against Missouri.

Utah State recorded their highest score of the season against the Cougars with a 196.025, the second-best score in school history.

BYU moved to No. 18 in the national rankings with a regional qualifying score of 195.460. Utah State is at No. 37 with a RQS of 194.300.

Cougar all-arounder Kelly Parkinson did not compete in the all-around against the Aggies because she was nursing a sore back. She did compete on the bars and the beam against Utah State and, the next night, in a meet against Stanford and Southern Utah in Provo, Parkinson again competed in the all-around.

BYU has two meets remaining before regionals. After Utah State on Friday, the Cougars travel to Salt Lake City to compete against Utah on March 23.
