Finished his senior year as the WAC's leading rebounder (12.1 rebounds per game) ... was named to the All-WAC first team ... was second in scoring for the Cougars, averaging 14.8 points per game over the 25-game stretch ... in three years of varsity ball with the Cougars Eakins averaged 52% from the field, the second best career shooting percentage in BYU history at the time ... in the summer prior to his senior season he led the team in scoring and rebounding on an Orient trip ... set frosh scoring records (23.5 points per game) in 1965 ... alternated with Craig Raymond as starter as a sophomore and last year started several games ... scored a high of 29 points against Loyola of Chicago in his junior season ... led the team in field goal percentage, third in rebounding during his junior year.
