There’s a good chance Gustin will be given the nod as first string center for the Cougars. Although shy the height a post man usually has, John works fine sleight of hand and is clever enough to offset this height disadvantage. An all-stater from Springville High School, Gustin spent time in service before returning to BYU last year. Had excellent form as a member of frosh club in ’56.
Junior Year

Gustin, an all-state player in high school, spent a couple of years in the service before coming to BYU two years ago. Won frosh letter last year notched his first varsity letter. Very fast for a big man, can rebound with the best. Fine passer, ball handler.
