Before BYU

Prepped at Alta High School in Sandy, Utah ... as a senior he led the Hawks to a 14-8 record while averaging 24.6 points, 16 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game ... was the state's top scorer and selected as all-state and all-region ... earned 10 all-tournament honors and honorable mention USA Today All-America status ... helped Alta win the state title as a junior ... coached by Ron Carling.
