• High school All-American at Vacaville HS
• Carried a 4.0 GPA at VHS and was an academic All-American
• Qualified for Junior Nationals in six events
• Majoring in electronics engineering 
• Placed fourth in the 200 back at the 1993 WAC Championships with a time of 1:50.58 
• Also placed eighth in the 100 back at WAC meet 
• 1992-93: placed first in the 200 back at NMSU, second in the 200 back and third in the 200 free in a win over UNLV, first in 100 fly vs. Wyoming and second in the 200 back at Utah 
• Placed second at the 1994 WAC Championships in the 200 back, third in the 100 back and 12th in the 100 fly 
• Swam on the 200 and 400 medley relay teams which were second at the 1994 WAC Championships 
• His 200 free relay team was third and the 400 free relay team was fourth at the 1994 WACC 
• Qualified for Senior Nationals 
• Was the WAC 200 backstroke champion with a time of 1:47.61 and was second in the 100 back in 1995 
• Also swam on the 200 medley relay team which was second at the WACC in 1995
