Born Feb. 12, 1975 in Chicago, Ill....parents are Larry and Leah... majoring in sociology with communications and business minors...served an LDS Church mission in Panama from 1994-96 ...hobbies include surfing, lifting weights and sleeping...began playing volleyball at age 14...recruited by USC, Stanford, UCLA, Long Beach State and UCSB...cousin Matt Luke plays for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Before BYU

Two-time Empire League MVP at Esperanza High in Anaheim, Calif. ...Junior Olympic second-team All-American and second-team All-CIF as a sophomore in 1991...first-team All-CIF in 1992 and 1993...Mizuno prep All-American and named to the Fab 50 by Volleyball Monthly magazine in 1993...team finished second in CIF south section in 1992 and won the championship in 1993...member of the north team at the U.S. Olympic Festival in 1994.

BYU Hall of Fame

Freshman Year 1997

Played in 18 of 26 matches...recorded 89 assists versus UC Santa Barbara...was second on the team in total assists with 710.

Sophmore Year 1998

Played in 20 of 22 matches...had career-high total assists (731)...was third on team in service aces with 11...made team season-high 78 assists against UC Irvine.

Junior Year 1999

A member of the 1999 NCAA National Championship team...Played in 18 of the Cougars' 31 matches... chalked up 420 assists, four aces and 47 digs...Recorded 15 blocks on the season...produced a season-high 39 assists against UC Irvine on Jan. 7...had five blocks against Long Beach State on March 19.

Senior Year 2000

All-MPSF Honorable mention ... directed the Cougar offense recording a BYU single-season record 1,872 assists ... averaged 19.30 assists per game ... second on the team with 18 service aces and 204 digs ... fourth on the team with 98 total blocks.
