High School: Allen Major: History Parents: Lee and Kathy Tonga Family: One sister and two brothers. Sister, Sunny, also plays on the BYU team and was named the Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year in 1999. Younger brother, Steven, was a member of the 1999 BCI National Champion Basketball Team. Westlee also plays basketball. Named to the all-district team ... named District 10-5A Hitter of the Year in 1997 ... first team all-district Club: Coached by her father, Lee Tonga, and Michael Denardo while playing for the Texas Heat ... led her team to the national tournament in 1997. University of Utah - Sophomore (1998) Named a first-team all-WAC, Pacific Division outside hitter after switching from middle blocker ... finished the season with 459 kills, placing her sixth in the Utah single-season record books ... was third in the WAC in kills (4.17) ... eighth in the WAC in digs (3.06) ... finished her career at Utah with the fourth highest hitting percentage (.276) in Ute history. Freshman (1997) Was named to the Volleyball magazine/Asics Freshman All-Freshman Team ... named as the Western Athletic Conference Mountain Division Freshman of the Year ... broke the Utah single-season hitting percentage record by hitting .327 ... finished sixth in the WAC in hitting (.327) and seventh in blocks (1.22) ... led the team in blocks and was third in kills while playing middle blocker ... named to the all-tournament team at the Utah Classic and the Utah State Invitational.
