Pullman, WA (Nov. 30, 2000) Balanced scoring with four players scoring in double digits was more than enough for BYU's women's basketball team to easily defeat the Cougars from Washington State 90-58, Thursday.
The BYU Cougars improve to 3-1 on the year while the WSU Cougars go to 2-2.
Freshman redshirt Heather Cheesman led all scores with 16 points followed by former Mountain View High School teammate Erin Thorn getting 14 points in the game. Lisa Osguthorpe the third BYU Cougar from Mountain View was just one rebound shy of picking up her first double-double this season with her 11 points and nine rebounds. In all, seven BYU players got a three-pointer in the contest, for 80 percent accuracy.
"Lisa had a super game for us, she was 100 percent perfect," said Cougar coach Trent Shippen. "We had an unbelievable shooting performance tonight, executed well and saw a lot of unselfish play on the court."
