Worthington and Shaw named to NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today announced that Luke Worthington and Braiden Shaw have been named to the 2017-18 NABC Honors Court. 

Each year the NABC recognizes those men’s collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season. The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that these men possess off the court and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:

  • Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
  • Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2017-18 academic year.
  • Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
  • Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.

Worthington played in all 35 games in 2017-18 and started 29. The forward from Mequon, Wisconsin, averaged 4.3 points and 2.8 rebounds and served as a team captain.

Shaw battled injuries throughout the year and appeared in one game. For his career, Shaw has played in 51 games and totaled 56 points and 75 rebounds.
