Why did you choose to play basketball over other sports: The thrill of the sport (March Madness)

Before a basketball game, I: Meditate, say a prayer and read a chapter in the Book of Mormon.

How did you spend your off-season: working basketball camps, landscaping and got married.

Who has had the greatest influences on your basketball career and why: My brothers, I grew up watching them play and traveling to their games. I wanted to follow in their footsteps.

What do you want to be doing 20 years from now: Coaching

The best player I've ever faced is: Scoonie Penn (Ohio State) and Wayne Turner (Kentucky)

What would you like to do sometime in your life: Go on a foreign mission with my wife

What is your most memorable athletic achievement or moment: Achievement: going undefeated in high school to the state championship; moment: beating North Idaho there for the first time in 30 years and making the winning three-point shot to beat arch-rival Madison.

If I were on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," the person I'd call for my lifeline is and why: Elliot Lawrence (husband to Coach Lawrence of BYU's women's basketball team) because he knows tons of facts that most wouldn't know.

If you could play another position, what would it be: I'd play the '4' man if I was taller so I could play above the rim and hit the 3's.

How did you select your jersey number: #4 just stuck with me in high school

What is your favorite hobby or activity away from basketball: golfing, fishing and watching ESPN.

What is the best book you've ever read: The Book of Mormon

My advice to youngsters: Enjoy being young and be happy.

My favorite professor or most interesting BYU class I've taken: Sister Rowan in Health 461

Interesting fact most people don't know about me: I grew up on a farm/ranch branding calves and irrigating.

People say I look like: Another guy named Ty in my ward here at BYU.

If you had to give up all of your possessions except one, what would be the one thing you kept and why: My journal (scrapbook) to remember thoughts and feelings and activities of my life.
