Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Day Set for Saturday
Unused Tickets Can Be Redeemed for Free Upper-Bowl Ticktets to Saturday's Historic Event
PROVO -- Saturday's final regular season home basketball game against Colorado State is Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Day. All 2002-03 BYU men's basketball season ticket holders can redeem unused tickets from this season for a free upper-bowl seat for Saturday's game. BYU will honor Cougar great Danny Ainge and pay tribute to departing senior Travis Hansen at the 7 p.m. game.
"Our season ticket holders are the very important to the success of our program and we want to thank them for their support," BYU Athletic Marketing Director Tony Jewkes said. "Saturday's game is very special. We honor senior Travis Hansen before tipoff, and we are going to salute one of basketball's all-time greats, Danny Ainge, with the retirement of his jersey at halftime. This is a great opportunity for BYU fans and all those who have followed Ainge's career to be in the Marriott Center for this special night."
Season ticket holders can redeem their unused tickets or give their unused tickets to others to redeem at the ticket office for free upper-bowl seats to Saturday's historic event. To commemorate the event, the first 20,000 fans in attendance will receive a souvenir poster highlighting Ainge's accomplishments. Vintage Danny Ainge jerseys will also be for sale on the concourse level. Season ticket holders who have questions should contact the BYU ticket office at (801) 378-BYU1.
Ainge, the 1981 Wooden Award winner and former NBA player and Phoenix Suns' coach, will have his jersey retired during a special halftime ceremony. He is the first BYU basketball player to have his jersey retired. Many of Ainge's former teammates and coaches will be in attendance at the game.
BYU will also pay tribute to senior guard Travis Hansen during a pre-game salute to the lone Cougar senior. Hansen is a Mountain West Conference Player of the Year candidate and the team's leading scorer the past two seasons.
