BYU's Travis Hansen remains high on many NBA teams' draft boards as Thursday's NBA Draft in New York City approaches.

The 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Orem, Utah, is looking to become the first Cougar selected in the annual draft since Shawn Bradley was taken with the second-overall pick by Philadelphia in 1993. A BYU player has been selected in the NBA Draft 41 times, the second most selections among all Mountain West Conference teams behind UNLV's 48.

Hansen's stock has continued to improve since the end of the college season thanks to an exhaustive workout schedule with most NBA teams and good showings at the pre-draft camps. During workouts he has demonstrated good shooting range and impressed with his athleticism and solid overall abilities as a defender and rebounder.

At the Portsmouth Invitational, Hansen was named to the all-tournament team and was singled out as the recipient of the event's sportsmanship award. He averaged 15.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in three games while shooting 57.6 percent (19-33) from the floor, including 62.5 percent from NBA three-point range (5-8)

Despite one rough shooting game at the Chicago camp, the athletic Hansen kept his stock high with his overall contributions. He averaged 9.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.7 steals in three games as his team finished with a 2-1 record.
