Wilcock Earns Academic All-District Again
PROVO -- BYU junior Justin Wilcock has been named to the 2002 Verizon Academic All-District VIII Men's At-Large First Team for the second consecutive year. A Verizon Second-Team Academic All-American last year, Wilcock will automatically be placed to the 2002 All-America ballot, which will be released on June 11.
Wilcock is majoring in horticulture and maintains a 3.74 GPA. The native of Smithfield, Utah, was the only Cougar named to the either the first team or second team. Wilcock recently earned First-Team All-American status at the NCAA Diving Nationals for his seventh place performance on the 3-meter event.
The men's at-large team encompassed the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, hockey, lacrosse, skiing, swimmings, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling, and was voted on by CoSIDA members from within the District VIII states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington, and the province of British Columbia.
