BYU Hosts Clarence Robison Invitational This Week

PROVO -- The BYU men's and women's track teams will have their final home meet of the 2002 season this week at the Clarence Robison Invitational, to be held at the BYU Track and Field Complex from Wed., May 1 to Sat., May 4.

In addition to the No. 23 BYU men and No. 24 BYU women, the field consists of Idaho State, Nevada, Southern Utah, Utah, Utah State, Weber State, UVSC and Ricks College.

The meet will also feature three world class athletes, including 2002 Olympic gold medalist and current world record-holder in the pole vault, Stacey Dragila. Tiffany Lott-Hogan, a three-time national champion and current world record-holder in the indoor 100-meter hurdles, will be competing as will 2002 Olympian and two-time national champion Leonard Myles-Mills, who is currently the BYU men's sprint coach.

Jeff Hansen, a four-time All-American who won the pole vault title at this year's NCAA Indoor Championships, will also be in action this weekend.

The heptathlon and decathlon will be held on Wednesday and Thursday beginning at noon. Field events are scheduled to begin at 12:30 on Friday and preliminary running events are scheduled to begin at 2:10 p.m. on Friday.

Saturday's action on the field will begin at 10 a.m. and running events are scheduled to begin at noon. The final event of the meet is scheduled to begin at 2:25 p.m.

Admission to the Clarence Robison Invitational is free.
