  • Coached two athletes to a total of three All-America teams
  • Two of Perkins' athletes have received All-America Honorable Mention awards
  • Has had four athletes earn six entries to an NCAA Championship meet

  • Helped coach multi-event athlete Chase Dalton to All-America Second Team honors at both the indoor and outdoor 2014 NCAA Track & Field Championships
    • Continued to assist Dalton as he took fifth at the 2014 US Track & Field Nationals to make the Thorpe Cup Team
  • Coached Tatenda Tsumba to the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships where he was named a second-team All-American in the 200m and received All-America Honorable Mention in the 100m
    • Continued to coach Tsumba to the 2016 Zimbabwe Olympic team and 2015 Zimbabwe World Championship Team
  • Coached Jaslyn Gardner to break the BYU 100m school record as a freshman with a time of 11.38 in 2019

Stephani Perkins, former Oklahoma State University Cowboy, currently coaches short sprints and horizontal jumps for the BYU men and women's track team. Perkins began her career at BYU in 2013 as the coach over sprints, hurdles and horizontal jumps for the heptathletes and decathletes. She also coached the long and triple jump for men and women. 

During her first two years as an assistant coach with BYU, Perkins produced two second-team All-Americans and had a decathlete qualify for the USA Track and Field Nationals. That athlete went on to place take fifth and make the Thorpe Cup Team in 2014 placing seventh overall. In 2014 Perkins received the Assistant Coach of the Year award at BYU's annual Y Awards. 

In the summer of 2015, Perkins was named the short sprints and horizontal jumps coach for BYU. She coached a sprinter to The World Championship Team for Zimbabwe in 2015 and the Zimbabwe Olympic team in 2016. 

During her six years at BYU, she has had four athletes compete at the USA Track and Field Junior Olympic Championships and has had nine NCAA Round 1 West Preliminary qualifiers. 

Before transitioning to her collegiate coaching career, Perkins was the head men and women's cross country coach as well as the women's head track coach at Ranchview High School in Irving, Texas from 2008-2013. She was named the District Cross Country Coach of the Year at Ranchview High School in 2010 and 2011. She was also named District Track and Field Coach of the Year at Ranchview High School in 2010, 2011 and 2012. In 2011, Perkins founded and was the head coach of the Irving Elite Track and Field Club. 

She coached two high school national champions in the 400-meter hurdles, three high school national finalists in the triple jump and two high school national finalists in the 100-meter hurdles. She also coached a high school athlete that competed in the 2013 Junior World Games. 

Previous to Ranchview High School, Perkins was the head coach at Overland High School in Aurora, Colo. from 2006 to 2008 after being the assistant coach in 2005-2006. 

As an athlete, Perkins was a Colorado state high school champion in the 4x100m relay, 100-meter hurdles and the 100 and 200-meter dash. She went on to compete at Oklahoma State University from 1999 to 2003 where she set continued being a standout athlete. She set the 55-meter hurdle record with a time of 7.84 at the Simplot Games in Pocatello, Idaho in 1998. In 2008 she continued her career as an athlete where she qualified for the AT&T U.S. Indoor National Track and Field Championships in the hurdles. 

A native to Aurora, Colo., Perkins is married to DeShawn Perkins and they have twin sons named Rayden and Rhys.
