PROVO, Utah – After earning conference player of the week as well as Off the Block National Freshman of the Week honors, BYU outside hitter Brenden Sander was named Sports Imports/AVCA Division I-II Player of the Week for helping the No. 6 Cougars upset top-ranked Hawai’i in consecutive nights last week.

The award is the first of Sander’s career and the 25th overall for BYU (17-9, 14-8 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation).
