PROVO -- BYU outside hitter Jonathan Alleman was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week today for his outstanding performances last weekend against conference foe Stanford.
Alleman, a junior from Yorba Linda, Calif., led the team to two 3-2 victories over the Cardinal on January 17 and 18, recording 30 kills in each match. For the two matches, he recorded 60 kills (6.0 pg), hit .489 and added 7 blocks and 12 digs.
Alleman is the first player on BYU's team to receive this honor for the 2003 season.
