Alleman Named National Player of the Week
PROVO -- BYU outside/opposite side hitter Jonathan Alleman was named the AVCA/Sports Imports Div. I/II Men's Player of the Week today after two outstanding performances last weekend against Mountain Pacific Sports Federation foe Stanford.
Alleman, a junior from Yorba Linda, Calif., led the team to two 3-2 victories over the Cardinal, recording 30 kills in each match. He averaged 6.00 kills, 1.20 digs and 0.70 blocks per game as he attacked for a .489 percentage on 94 attempts. He added seven digs and two block assists in the first five-game win over the Cardinal, hitting .458 on the night. He registered a .522 hitting effort, as well as five in the digs, total blocks and assists categories in the second 3-2 victory.
Alleman was also selected the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week.
