Six Cougars Named to Academic All-Conference Team
COLORADO SPRINGS -- The Mountain West Conference recognized six BYU softball players for academic excellence Tuesday as members of the 2002 Academic All-Conference Softball Team. Katy Barnes, Jessica Johnson, Kate Walker
and Jill Roberts were named to the team while Megan Johnson and Kari Pringle were two of 18 repeat selections to the 2002 team.
In addition to the six Cougars being honored, Colorado State had the most honorees with 10, followed by Utah with seven and New Mexico and San Diego State each with five selections.
All 33 student-athletes who earned MWC academic honors have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and have been a starter or significant contributor to the team.
