Cadiente Named MWC Player of the Week

PROVO -- BYU junior Brooke Cadiente was named MWC Player of the Week for her performance last week as she led the Cougars to a perfect 4-0 record at the Red Desert Classic. This marks the second time in her career to garner the weekly conference honor.

Cadiente, a native of Mesa, Ariz. smashed two home runs against a ranked University of Washington in helping the Cougars upset the Huskies for the second consecutive season. Last season's MWC Tournament MVP hit her third home run of the weekend against in-state rival Utah State in helping the Cougars come from behind to win 7-6. Overall, the outfielder batted 7-11 (.636), with three home runs, one double, and nine RBI.
