Eaton named WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — The West Coast Conference has named BYU’sEaton's performances in the two games were instrumental in BYU’s victories. The Cougars are on a five-game win streak and are all alone in second place in the latest West Coast Conference standings with a 19-5, 11-2 record.
Eaton, a 5-foot-10 junior guard/forward, recorded career- and game-highs in points (37) and in rebounds (14) in the home win vs. Pepperdine on Feb. 5, giving BYU head coach his 300thcareer win.
In the 77-58 victory over the Waves, Eaton also dished out five assists, had three steals, which tied for team and game highs, and also went 5-of-10 from 3-point range. The points and rebounds marked the third double-double of the season for Eaton.
In Saturday’s win vs. LMU, she once again led all scorers with 24 points while pulling down eight rebounds and dishing out two assists.
The points marked the 11th time and third straight that she’s had a game with 20-plus points on the year. With the two games scoring in double figures, Eaton has recorded double figures in points in the last 22 straight contests.
For the week, she finished with 61 points, 22 rebounds, seven assists and three steals. She shot 53.5 percent from the field, 53.8 percent from the free-throw line and 47.1 percent from 3-point range while averaging 30.5 ppg and 11.0 rebounds per game.
Currently, Eaton leads the BYU team in scoring with a 20.7 average, ranks third in rebounding with a 6.5 average and has the team’s best 3-point field goal percentage, .439 (58-132).​
