SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Sophomore middle blocker Amy Boswell was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday, after leading No. 12 BYU women’s volleyball to a win over San Diego.
The victory gave BYU (23-4, 13-2 WCC) at least a share of the conference title.
In the only match of the week for the Cougars, Boswell tied a BYU blocking record with a career-high 17 blocks. She tallied 16 block assists and a solo block to make up the 17. Boswell also added seven kills (.267 hitting percentage), two assists and a dig.
This is the first WCC Player of the Week honor for Boswell. It is the fourth collective honor for the Cougars this season.
