No. 15 BYU women's volleyball returns to the Smith Fieldhouse
PROVO, Utah – No. 15 BYU women’s volleyball will welcome back fans to the Smith Fieldhouse for the first time this season as the Cougars take on Pacific in a pair of matches March 12-13.
BYU announced on Monday a limited number of tickets would be made available for a number of home athletic events, including women’s volleyball matches. Roughly 500 tickets for each of this week’s matches were first made available to past season ticket holders and sold out before even being opened up to the general public.
The two matches are both scheduled for 1 p.m. MST. Friday’s match will be televised on BYUtv and streamed on the BYUtv App. Saturday’s match will be broadcast on BYUtv.org and the BYUtv App.
No. 15 BYU Cougars (10-1, 9-1 WCC)
- BYU remained at No. 15 in the AVCA national poll for the second week in a row, marking the sixth consecutive week the Cougars have been ranked in the top 15
- The Cougars swept its season series versus San Francisco to move to 10-1 overall and 9-1 in league play
- BYU is No. 6 in the NCAA Division I with an average of 13.71 assists per set, led by sophomore setter Whitney Bower who is No. 31 in the nation with 10.82 assists per set
- The Cougars also rank No. 11 in hitting percentage (.299) and No. 17 in kills per set (14.39)
- Senior middle blocker leads the WCC with a .394 hitting percentage (No. 37 in the nation) and is third in the league with 1.19 blocks per set
- Senior outside hitter Taylen Ballard-Nixon leads the team in kills per set (3.89) and points per set (4.46)

- BYU is 18-7 all-time against Pacific
- Currently on a 16-match win streak, the Cougars have swept the Tigers the last seven matchups

Pacific Tigers (2-7, 2-7 WCC)
- After having four consecutive matches postponed, Pacific dropped a three-set match to Saint Mary’s this last Tuesday.
- The Tigers lead the conference with an average of 39.71 attacks per set (No. 14 in the nation) and 17.74 digs per set (No. 27 in the nation)
- Freshman outside hitter Alexa Edwards is second in the WCC with an average of 11.47 attacks per set, leading the team with 3.74 kills per set and 4.32 points per set
- Defensively, junior libero Jadyn Tubbs leads the team with 4.54 digs per set and freshman middle blocker Ramonni Cook leads the team with .66 blocks per set
