Cougar MWC Tournament Matches to be Televised on KBYU and BYU-TV
MWC-TV Network to Broadcast All Seven Games of 2002 Mountain West Conference Volleyball Championships
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference announced today that all matches of the 2002 Mountain West Conference Volleyball Championship will appear on television. The MWC Volleyball Championship will be held Nov. 21-23 at Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colo.
All BYU matches will be broadcast in Utah on KBYU (Channel 11) and also on BYU-TV. BYU's first match against the Rebels on Thursday will be broadcast live on BYU-TV and shown on a tape-delayed basesThe Cougars enter the tournament as the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 seed UNLV at 4 p.m. Thursday. Former BYU All-American Amy Gant will serve as the color commentator for the tournament.
This year marks the first time matches will be broadcast back to each Mountain West Conference market. Preliminary round championship matches can be seen on over-the-air and cable affiliates throughout the Mountain West Conference region. Saturday's title match will be televised live regionally on Fox Sports Net with a coverage area including Colorado, Utah and Wyoming, as well as parts of Montana, Idaho, Kansas, Nebraska and Nevada. The telecast will also be available to a national audience on FSN to DirecTV and Dish Network subscribers.
The Mountain West Conference Television Network will be the production entity for the 2002 MWC Volleyball Championship, marking the league's first in-house production venture. Listed below is a list of clearances along with the satellite coordinates. Check local listings for match coverage.
