Intercepted a pass at the 2-yardline and returned it 90 yards to set up the only Cougar score in a 6-6 tie at Utah on October 18.

Team captain ... lead BYU to its first victory over rival Utan ... down by two late in the fourth quarter BYU blocked a punt and the ball rolled out of bounds at the Utah 10-yard line. Four plays later Longhurst ran in the winning touchdown from three yards out.
