Before BYU
Honors both academic and athletic at Cody High School...coached by John McDougall (BYU), honors roll six quarters, superior roll on quarter...as quarterback and kicker, he was named Wyoming's player of the year.
Punted exclusively for jayvee.
Switched from quarterback to linebacker in spring...served as "pooch" punter behind Clay Brown who led the nation in punting...averaged 36.0 yards per punt.
Handled all of the punting...his longest punt being a 60-yarder vs. Air Force in a game where he averaged 47 yards for eight punts...All-WAC second team...averaged 40.9 yards per punt...was coaches' special teams player of the game vs. San Diego State.
