Glen was all-state in football and all-region in baseball at Ogden High...coached by Eric Maughan (Utah State)...fullback and linebacker...three-year letterman in baseball.
Impressed coaches as a jayvee mainstay...played in the Utah varsity game...traveled to the Tangerine Bowl.
Player of the game among the linebackers against ASU and USU...in his first varsity start against ASU, he scored 36 defensive points from 15 assisted tackles, three pass deflections and three tackles for losses...one week earlier, Redd filled in for the injured Rod Wood and had eight unassisted tackles and two pass breakups against Oregon State...against Utah State he again led the defense in getting five assisted tackles, seven unassisted tackles and three tackles for losses.
The leading returnee from the defensive stats leaders...second in defensive stats on the year...tied for the team lead in assisted tackles (78), pass interceptions (5), fumble recoveries (3) and fumbles caused (3)...All-WAC...was WAC player of the week against UTEP and USU...was linebacker of the week against UTEP, Wyoming and San Diego State...made 17 tackles against Utah State...had 14 tackles against UTEP...recorded the following tackle tallies: 11 vs. Hawai'i, 11 vs. Wyoming, 12 vs. Colorado State, 12 vs. New Mexico and 11 vs. Indiana in the Holiday Bowl.
