Career Summary

JD Falslev came to BYU as an All-State return specialist from Sky View High School in Utah. He played in a total of 50 games including eight starts while earning letterman honors all four years. He totaled 933 receiving yards, 856 punt return yards and 484 kickoff return yards as a Cougar. As a senior he led the team in punt returns and helped BYU to a No. 11 national ranking in kickoff returns. The same season Falslev was also the Cougars' third-leading receiver and logged a career-long 27-yard reception against Middle Tennessee. In 2011 Falslev tied for 29th nationally in punt return average at 10 yards per return and maintained an average of 9.1 or higher all four years of his career. He was named to the 2013 Paul Hornung Award watch list and received several All-Independent honors throughout his career.   • Had five receptions for 55 yards in season opener vs. Washington State
  • Logged four punt returns for 70 yards vs. Weber State along with a 53-yard rush
  • Recorded four receptions vs. Utah State including the only touchdown of the game in a 6-3 victory for the Cougars
  • In first game as primary kick returner vs. Georgia Tech posted three returns for 129 yards, including returns of 44, 43 and 42 yards
  • Totaled career-best 187 all-purpose yards vs. New Mexico State with 68 receiving yards, 51 kick returns yards and 68 punt return yards
Senior Year 2013

  • On the Paul Hornung Award Watch List
  • Preseason All-Independent First Team (College Sports Madness)
  • Caught the first touchdown pass of the season at Virginia 
  • Tallied 47 receiving yards on three catches and added 84 punt return yards (including a high of 58) against Utah
  • Returned six punts for 107 yards, including a 71-yard TD return in win over Middle Tennessee
  • College Football Performance Award Hon. Mention Punt Returner of the Week (9/28)
  • Totaled 69 yards on six receptions vs Georgia Tech

  • Earned first team All-Independent honors (as a punt returner) by College Sports Madness for the third consecutive year 

  • Received FBS All-Independent Team Honorable Mention as a punt returner
