Before BYU

Prepped at Orem High, where he lettered three times in football and basketball, four times in baseball and twice in track...had a 3.8 GPA...all-state and all-region two years in football...all-region in baseball...Arthur V. Watkins Male Athlete of the Year...played with the 3A-4A all-star team in Australia at the Down Under Bowl...team captain...Coca-Cola Gold Helmet Award...had 26 stolen bases in baseball as a senior...coached by Paul Clark (BYU).

Freshman Year 1996

Played against Hawai`i, UTEP, and UNLV.

Sophmore Year 1997

Academic All-WAC...Cougar Club Scholar-Athlete...started against Utah St., Hawai`i, TCU, UTEP, Tulsa, New Mexico and Utah...was coaches' defensive back of the week against TCU...had five tackles and three pass deflections vs. TCU...had two pass interceptions, an unassisted tackle, four assisted tackles and a pass deflection vs. Utah.

Junior Year 1998

Recorded three unassisted tackles at Alabama ... Recovered a fumble in the third quarter of the Arizona State game, setting up a Pochman field goal to give the Cougars a 26-0 lead ... Had a season-high 15 defensive points vs. Murray State, including four solo tackles, one tackle-for-loss and two pass deflections ... Had four unassisted tackles and one tackle-for-loss at Hawaii.

Senior Year 1999

Participated in spring drills...started the first four games of the season, and played in seven games for BYU before breaking his shoulder in the first quarter against UNLV...returned to the lineup for the Motor City Bowl...opened the year with a season-high eight tackles against Washington...totaled 25 tackles on the year, including 14 solo takedowns.
