USA Today Prep Player of the Year for 1994-95 season... awarded All-Around Athlete Award at Bingham High School (South Jordan, Utah)...A three-year letterman in football and basketball... lettered twice in baseball...selected as the team captain as a senior... named all-state and all-region...led team to a No. 1 ranking for six straight weeks during the season.

BYU Hall of Fame

Freshman Year 1998

Lettered as a redshirt freshman...saw limited game action at quarterback...participated as a member of the practice squad.

Sophmore Year 1999

Participated in spring drills...led the BYU spring roster with 422 yards passing, connecting on 28-of-45 attempts...averaged 15.1 yards per pass completion...recorded four touchdown strikes during three scrimmages, including two during the Blue/White game...led the white squad to a 28-0 victory over the blue team with 209 yards passing on 13-of-24 attempts, including a long of 38 yards to Mike Nielson...played in two regular-season games as a sophomore...rushed one time for six yards in a game against Utah State...completed 4-of-7 passes for 50 yards and ran three times for eight yards in the Motor City Bowl.

Junior Year 2000

Completed 18 of 30 attempts with only one interception, for 250 yards and one touchdown as the starting quarterback for the Blue squad in the Blue-White spring scrimmage...saw limited action against Florida State, completing six-of-18 attempts for 88 yards...earned first career start against Mississippi State, completing 27-of-50 attempts for 268 yards and two touchdowns...became the Cougars' regular starter against Utah State, leading BYU to a 2-2 record in four starts before being sidelined with a slow-healing ankle and shoulder injury...completed a game-high 24-of-37 (.649) attempts for a career high 324 yards and one touchdown against Utah State...guided BYU on six scoring drives against the Aggies, including a touchdown-scoring drive in the third quarter that covered 90 years on 16 plays and took nearly eight minutes off the clock...drove BYU on a no-huddle, three-play, 69-yard touchdown-scoring drive to end the first half (vs. Utah State)...recorded second straight 300-yard performance (vs. San Diego State), connecting on 34-of-58 for 376 yards and one touchdown...recorded a stretch of 164 pass attempts without an interception, passing Jim McMahon for the longest streak without an interception in BYU history...ranked second in the MWC with five 200-yard and two 300-yard games.

Senior Year 2001

Played in 9-of-13 regular-season games for the Cougars...credited with 21 carries for 61 yards and one touchdown...credited with 48 completions on 67 pass attempts for 632 yards, five touchdowns and only one interception...tallied a season-high 284 yards passing against Hawaii...chalked up 149 yards passing against Nevada, including a 53-yard completion...posted 112 yards passing at San Diego State, including a 68-yard touchdown strike to Toby Christensen for a touchdown.
