Before BYU

Was student body president at Olympus High where he lettered twice in football and three times in track...rushed for a state-record 337 yards in one game...scored 31 touchdowns in his career...averaged 9.54 yards as a senior...was two-time all-state...scored 30 points in one game...was second in state track for 100 and 200 as a junior and senior...coached by Tom Larsen (BYU).

Participated in spring drills...played an important role on the practice squad.

Sophmore Year 1999

Participated in spring drills, ranking fourth on the BYU spring roster with 27 yards on 15 carries ... averaged 1.8 yards per carry in three scrimmages...totaled 15 yards on four carries, including a three-yard touchdown trot in the Blue/White Game...caught three passes for 35 yards during spring scrimmages...saw limited action at running back as a sophomore...also saw action on special teams.

Junior Year 2000

Saw significant action during spring drills ... led the White team to a 27-20 win over the blue squad with 70 yards rushing on nine carries, averaging 7.8 yards per carry ... scored the only two rushing TDs for the White squad, including scoring runs of 10 and 21 yards ... played in ten games on the season ... used primarily on special teams as a kick returner ... totaled 516 yards on 24 returns during the season, averaging a team-leading 21.5 yards per return ... twice recorded a season-high 37-yard return against Mississippi State and Virginia ... notched a career-best 129 yards on six returns at Syracuse ... earned Academic All-Mountain West Conference honors.

Senior Year 2001

Played in 8-of-13 regular-season games for the Cougars after battling a mid-season appendectomy...a member of the 2001 MWC Championship team...helped BYU to a 12-2 record during the season, including a streak of 12 straight wins...recorded 19 carries for a total of 61 yards and one touchdown, including a season-high 32 yards against Nevada...made one reception on the season for nine yards against Air Force...scored his first career touchdown Air Force...credited with a 10-yard kick return versus San Diego State.
