Saw limited playing time as a backup to Jimmy Richards at center.

Sophmore Year 1999

Participated in spring drills...saw time at guard and center...played in eight games during regular season.

Junior Year 2000

Named All-Mountain West Conference Second-Team...started all 12 games for the Cougars at center...earned coaches' award for his performance against Air Force...anchored an offensive line that did not allow a single sack in back-to-back games, marking the first time the Cougars have not allowed a single sack in consecutive games since the 1985 season...provided pass protection for the top-ranked BYU passing offense, which averaged 274.6 yards per game.

Senior Year 2001

Signed a free-agent contract with the Denver Broncos ... started 13-of-13 regular-season games for the Cougars and started at center in the Liberty Bowl against No. 22 Louisville ... earned First-Team All-MWC honors ... First-Team Media All-MWC ... The Sporting News First-Team All-MWC ... Football News First-Team All-MWC ... received coaches awards against Tulane, UNLV and Colorado State ... played center for No. 1 nationally ranked offense ... a member of the 2001 MWC Championship team ... helped BYU to a 12-2 record during the season, including a streak of 12 straight wins ... significant contributor for the top-ranked offense in the nation (averaging 46.8 points and 542.8 yards per game) ... provided protection for Heisman Trophy candidate Brandon Doman, who threw for over 3,500 yards ... a key blocker for Doak Walker Award winner Luke Staley, who scored 28 touchdowns and rushed for 1,596 yards on the season.
