Three-year letterman in football and basketball...named first team all-state and team MVP at Culver City High in football and basketball...played running back and safety.

Played two years at El Camino Junior College...well known as a big hitter...named all-conference, all-state, team MVP, and All-American as a safety.
65-yard TD from a pass interception and 15 tackles vs. UTEP to earn coaches' player of the game and WAC Defensive Player of the Week...had eight tackles and a fumble caused vs. Texas A & M...had 10 tackles at Washington...had three unassisted tackles, a fumble caused and a pass deflection vs. SMU...had seven tackles at Utah St.,...had seven tackles, one fumble caused and a pass deflection vs. UNLV...had three pass deflections at Tulsa...had six unassisted tackles, six tackles and a pass deflection at TCU...had a sack at Hawai`i...had eight tackles and a QB hurry at Utah...had a pass interception and 10 tackles vs. Wyoming.
Honorable Mention All-WAC selection...started 2 games for the Cougars at strong safety...named coaches' outstanding defensive back vs. UNLV, at UTEP and at Utah...recorded eight tackles at Utah, including a pair of resounding hits on Ute receivers...picked off a Johnathon Crosswhite pass in the third quarter of the Utah game to stuff a Ute drive deep in BYU territory...finished the year second on the team in tackles with 86.
Injured in the first quarter of the Washington game and was granted a medical redshirt...had ACL surgery.
