PROVO -- BYU will host the annual Clarence Robison Invitational this week from Wed., April 23 to April 26, at the BYU Track and Field Complex.
The No. 14 BYU women and No. 25 BYU men will compete against the University of Utah, Weber State, UVSC, the University of Nevada, the University of Montana and Southern Utah University.
The meet will kick off with the decathlon and heptathlon Wednesday and Thursday. The other track and field events will continue Friday and Saturday. The meet will conclude with the 4x400-meter relays at 2:25 p.m. Admission to the meet if free.
The Cougar athletes will look to post regional qualifying times and prepare for nationals in Sacramento, Calif. The women's team has already regionally qualified athletes in 10 events and nationally qualified three athletes in the 10,000-meter run. The men have regionally qualified athletes in 13 events.
The Robison Invitational is named in honor of former BYU track athlete and coach Clarence Robison. Robison, who coached at BYU for more than 40 years, was inducted into the United States Coaches Hall of Fame Dec. 7,2002. Next year's invitational will be held April 21 to April 24, 2003.

Meet Information
Scoring - Women's meet will be scored 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Men's meet is not scored.
Registration - Registration closes for Decathlon and Heptathlon at midnight, Tuesday, April 22nd. Registration closes for whole meet at midnight, Wednesday, April 23rd.
Results/Heat Sheets - Heat sheets will be posted Thursday morning. Results will be posted throughout the meet at the links above.
Entry Fees - Meet entry fees are $75 per team, or $150 per school, $5 per individual not on a team.
800m - The 800m final will be 12 runners. For the men's 800m the top 8 seeded performers will be given a bye into the final. The remaining 4 positions will be filled from the 800m heats on Friday.
High Jump/Pole Vault - Athletes are not permitted to participate in both the open and invitational sections of the high jump and pole vault.
