Outfielder Jacob Hannemann of BYU has been named to the 2013 Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American team, selected by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

Hannemann joins left-handed pitcher P.J. Conlon of San Diego as the only representatives of the West Coast Conference on the team.

Hannemann was the WCC Freshman of the Year, was selected to the All-WCC First Team and the All-WCC Freshman Team by the coaches. Additionally he was named College Sports Madness WCC Freshman of the Year and College Sports Madness All-WCC.

This past season Hannemann was the Rawlings WCC Player of Week vs. UVU/Santa Clara and tied a school record with two triples in one game vs. UC Irvine. He led all WCC freshmen with a .380 batting average during WCC play, ripping 15 extra-base hits and scoring 26 runs.  He slugged .630, posted a .426 on-base percentage, and stole seven bases in eight attempts against WCC opponents.

Hannemann hit three game-winning RBI: Kansas (3-0), Santa Clara (3-1) and Loyola Marymount (8-3).  He was a hit shy of hitting for the cycle three times: Utah Valley in an 8-0 win (needed a triple), Santa Clara in a 3-1 victory (needed a single) and Gonzaga in a 9-6 upset (needed a home run).
