Five Named Academic All-MWC

Five BYU baseball players were named Thursday to the 2001 Academic All Mountain West Conference team.

Seniors Shane Belliston and Ty Haguewood join juniors Matt Ward and Michael Wirrick and sophomore Tim Law to the quad. Belliston, who had a 3.00 grade point average in management, was one of nine repeaters on the team.

Wirrick, who had a 3.46 GPA in psychology, was one of three members of the team who was also selected to the First Team Verizon Academic All District VIII team.

Haguewood had a 3.06 GPA in psychology, Law had a 3.04 GPA as an undeclared major, and Ward had a 3.10 GPA in management.
