Cougars to play at LMU in first of two road games this week

BYU Game Notes

PROVO, Utah – BYU men's basketball will head to Southern California for a pair of West Coast Conference games, beginning with Loyola Marymount on Thursday at 8 p.m. PST in Gersten Pavilion. The Cougars are currently second in the WCC standings at 8-3, one game ahead of Pacific and Saint Mary's.

BYU's game at Loyola Marymount will be televised live on ESPNU. The radio broadcast will be available live on the BYU Sports Network, on BYU Radio – Sirius XM 143/89.1 FM HD2 and KSL 102.7 FM/1160 AM.

BYU Storylines

  • BYU has made double-digit 3-pointers the last five games – the second-longest streak of consecutive games with 10-plus 3s in team history – the record of six was set earlier this season. The Cougars have also shot 50.0 percent or better from the field in nine-straight games, tied for the longest single-season streak in team history. The record of nine games was previously set at the end of the 1988-89 season.
  • Senior forward Yoeli Childs scored a season-best 32 points on 14 of 23 shooting from the field vs. San Francisco. It was his fifth career 30-point game. He has shot 50.0 percent or better in his last 10 games played.
  • BYU is second in the WCC standings at 8-3 and has a one-game lead over third-place Pacific and Saint Mary’s. Nationally, BYU is 17th in the Kenpom.com rankings and has an NCAA NET ranking of 23 (as of Feb. 10).
