No. 10 Cougars host No. 12 Texas A&M before traveling to UVU
PROVO, Utah – The No. 10 BYU women's soccer team hosts No. 12 Texas A&M on Thursday, Sept. 12 before traveling across town to Utah Valley on Monday, Sept. 16.

IN THE RANKINGS. With the announcement of the United Soccer Coaches and Top Drawer Soccer polls for this week, the Cougars stayed in the No. 10 and No. 12 spots, respectively. BYU has also consistently held the top spot in the United Soccer Coaches West Region poll.
LAST TIME ON THE FIELD. The Cougars were led by Elise Flake's offense and Sabrina Davis' defense as they shutout rival Utah 2-0 at South Field. Flake scored the first goal of the match in the 20th minute as she snuck past the defense and outsmarted the Ute goalkeeper. Davis recorded back-to-back diving saves to keep Utah off the board before Cameron Tucker scored in the 64th minute to secure the win.
SOUTH FIELD RECORDS. In the Utah match, 5,036 were in attendance at South Field, falling short of a record. BYU holds the top spot in the NCAA's attendance records so far in 2019 with a total of 9,208 fans in attendance for an average of 4,604. The South Field record is 5,735 when the Cougars hosted No. 1 UCLA in 2017.

THE AGGIES. Texas A&M is also undefeated this season, earning wins over Santa Clara, CSUN, Abilene Christian and Ohio State while tying Pepperdine and Brown. Similar to BYU, the Aggies have scored 12 goals this season while averaging 17.8 shots per game and are in second for game attendance. Jimena Lopez leads the offense with four goals and three assists and Shantel Hutton has only allowed two goals.
COUGARS VS. AGGIES. Having only competed in one match, Texas A&M holds a 1-0 advantage over BYU after earning a 2-0 win in College Station, Texas in 2018.

THE WOLVERINES. Utah Valley's pair of wins came at home against Cal Poly, 2-0, and Cal State Fullerton, 2-1. Most recently, the Wolverines fell 5-0 to the West Coast Conference's Santa Clara. UVU has scored six goals while allowing 12 and they are led by Amber Tripp's three goals and one assist.
COUGARS VS. WOLVERINES. BYU holds a dominant 4-0 lead in the series with the last win coming in 2018. The Cougars took a 3-1 victory at South Field with Flake and Bella Folino netting goals.
