Cramer Headlines Women's Soccer Honors For Cougars
Aleisha Cramer received her first All-American honor being named to the 2000 NSCAA's Women's Soccer First Team All-American. Three other teammates received All-Region honors by the NSCAA.
Cramer was also named to the NSCAA West Region First Team. Senior Staci Reynolds (who received All-American honors last season) and Michelle Peterson were named to the NSCAA's All-Region Second Team with Sara Reading making the All-Region Third Team.
In her final season, Peterson led the BYU team with 18 goals and 12 assists on the year, followed by Reading's 17 goals and four assists. All-American Reynolds and Cramer were part of a defense that only allowed 20 goals to the Cougars 86 in 2000. Cramer tallied seven goals and 13 assists playing in her first collegiate season and she was the only freshman to receive the First Team All-America honor.
BYU finished the 2000 season with a 19-4-1 record, their second consecutive MWC crown and a 10th place final ranking by the NSCAA which is the highest finish ever in that poll for the six-year Cougar program.
