Eight Cougars Named to 2002 MWC Academic All-Conference Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Three-time All-American Aleisha Cramer-Rose headlined the list of eight BYU soccer players selected to the MWC 2002 Academic All-Conference team.

Cramer-Rose, a junior studying Marriage, Family, and Human Development, helped guid the Cougars to the MWC championship for the third straight season. Cramer-Rose, along with fellow juniors Britney Holman and Terra Smith are repeat honorees of the award.

Brooke Bowman, who was named MWC Freshman of the Year, was one of two freshman honored from BYU. Charlene Lui was the other freshman selected to the All-Conference team.

Senior Jeni Viernes was the lone upperclassman selected from BYU. Rounding out the list are sophomores Katie Gabbart and junior Jennifer Fielding.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor to the team.
