MALIBU, Calif. - The 2012 West Coast Conference champion No. 4 BYU women's soccer team recorded its 10th shutout victory of the year in a 2-0 win over No. 22 Pepperdine on the road, Saturday. The Cougars finish the regular season 18-1-1, 7-0-1.

Cloee Colohan led all players with a career-high six shots and one goal against the Waves. BYU also had five other players credited with at least one shot on the day, and senior Carlee Payne Holmoe was the other goal scorer for the Cougars in the win.

Both teams took turns with goal opportunities through most of the first half.

With 35 minutes until halftime, BYU senior Lindsi Lisonbee Cutshall had a great opportunity off a free kick from about 40 yards out. Pepperdine goalkeeper Roxanne Barker had to jump and punch the ball over the top of the crossbar. The Cougars had a 6-4 shot advantage heading into the locker room after the first 45 minutes.

Shortly after returning from halftime, BYU's Colohan took a free kick from about 25 yards that found its way into the back of the net. The goal is Colohan's fifth of the season.

The Cougars kept up the pressure and were rewarded again with six minutes left in the game on a goal from Holmoe, her sixth of the season. Kayla Varner was credited with the assist after getting the ball centered into Holmoe, through traffic.

BYU took five more shots in the second half while allowing Pepperdine just one.

The Cougars now wait to hear what their postseason opportunities will be. The women's soccer NCAA selection show will be streamed live on NCAA.com at 4:30 p.m. EDT this coming Monday.
